Fashion for Good & AltMat Launch Altag® Fibre Club Initiative

Amsterdam, 19 June 2025 – Fashion for Good has partnered with AltMat, a materials science company converting agricultural waste into valuable fibres, to launch the Altag® Fibre Club. This initiative aims to accelerate the commercial adoption of next-gen fibres from agricultural residue by offering a scalable, circular alternative to conventional materials.
The fibre club addresses critical industry bottlenecks: for brands, limited capacity, high prices, and complex logistics; and for innovators, challenges in scaling, securing buyers, and navigating fragmented infrastructure. By enabling brands to pool resources and commit to minimum orders, the initiative reduces financial risks and supports widespread implementation.
Founding members include a diverse group of supply chain leaders such as Adalberto, Alok, Arvind, Bhaskar Denim, Shahi Exports, Sutlej Textiles, Vrijesh Natural Fibre & Fabrics, and others who will integrate AltMat’s fibres into their processes. This builds on the success of Fashion for Good’s previous fibre club with Circ in 2024.
“Advancing the Fibre Club with AltMat marks a significant step in scaling innovative materials with real commercial potential,” said Katrin Ley, Managing Director at Fashion for Good.
“There’s no shortage of intent to adopt next-gen materials, but there is a lack of systems to actually make it happen,” added Shikha Shah, CEO and Founder at AltMat. “We’re not just introducing a fibre; we’re building the foundation for a new class of materials rooted in regeneration, resilience, and real-world scalability.”
The Altag® Fibre Club will debut at the Future Fabric Expo in London, June 24–25, 2025, opening the door to more brands eager to join.
