We are pleased to inform you that FICCI in collaboration with CSIR-CRRI, is organizing an "International Conference on Steel Slag Road: A Sustainable Green Infrastructure Transforming Waste to Wealth" on 10th April 2024 at The Lalit Hotel, New Delhi. This conference is also supported by the Ministry of Steel, Niti Aayog, the Indian Steel Association, and International Road Federation.

Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Hon’ble Minister of Steel & Civil Aviation, Government of India has been invited to grace the occasion.

The conference focuses on the innovative use of steel slag in road construction as a means of promoting sustainable development and addressing waste management challenges. Steel slag, a byproduct of steel production, has traditionally been viewed as a waste material requiring disposal. However, advancements in technology and engineering have revealed its potential as a valuable resource for various applications, particularly in the construction industry.

The conference will explore technological interventions that make processed steel slag aggregates a superior and cost-effective alternative to natural aggregates for the road construction sector. It will provide an ideal networking platform to foster collaboration and partnerships among relevant stakeholders from government, steel manufacturing companies, users of steel slag in construction projects, road and other infrastructure contractors, waste management companies, technology providers, research and development institutions, amongst others. (click here to download the Brochure)
