We are delighted to inform you that Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) is planning to organize the 2nd edition of HATHKARGHA 2024 and a visit to Dubai, an exclusive Textile, Handloom & Handicraft Products Showcase & Buyer-Seller Meet in Dubai in association with Embassy of India , Abu Dhabi, UAE & Consulate General of India, Dubai from December 11-13, 2024, to promote Indian Textile, Handloom & Handicraft products in the Middle East market.
India is among the world’s largest producers of Textiles and Apparel. The domestic apparel & textile industry in India contributes approx. 2.3% to the country’s GDP, 13% to industrial production and 12% to exports. India has a 4% share of the global trade in textiles and apparel. India exports handloom products to more than 20 countries in the world. Some of the top importers are the USA, UAE, Spain, UK, Italy, Australia, France, Germany, Netherlands, and Greece. The USA was the biggest importer of handloom products from India, consistently the top importer for the past 8 years. During 2022-23, the country imported handloom products worth US$ 58.12 million. The exports to the UAE, which was the second largest importer of handloom from India during the same period amounted to US$ 12.72 million.
Through Hathkargha 2024, FICCI aims to promote livelihood, sustainable textile, unique handicrafts and creating a platform to connect with designers, buyers from other countries to increase exports from India.
