eVent Fabrics Supplies alpineST Technology for 2027 MSR Xplorer ADV Riding Gear

Rocky Mountain ATV selects PFAS-free, waterproof and breathable 3-layer fabric for its new adventure riding jacket and pants

eVent® Fabrics has announced a partnership with Rocky Mountain ATV, which has selected the company's alpineST 3-layer technology for its 2027 MSR Xplorer ADV Jacket and MSR Xplorer ADV Pants. The announcement was made in Kansas City, Mo., on October 8, 2026.

The new riding gear is designed to address varying conditions encountered during adventure riding, including heat, physical exertion, rain, wind and temperature changes. The jacket and pants incorporate waterproof, breathable materials alongside protective components and ventilation systems.

“Adventure riding can subject apparel to some pretty unique demands,” said Chad Kelly, Vice President of eVent Fabrics. “You can go from a hot, exposed stretch of trail to rain, altitude, and colder conditions in the same ride. The MSR Xplorer ADV is designed around that reality, and alpineST gives a waterproof, breathable foundation that helps riders stay comfortable as conditions change.”

Jacket Features alpineST Fabric and Multiple Ventilation Points

The 2027 MSR Xplorer ADV Jacket uses eVent alpineST 3-layer fabric for its main body, incorporating a C0 DWR finish for waterproof and breathable protection. SuperFabric overlays on the shoulders and elbows provide additional abrasion resistance, while removable D3O Level 1 protectors at the shoulders, elbows and back offer impact protection.

The jacket includes four large zippered intake vents positioned at the biceps and chest, two double-headed vents at the wrists and forearms, and two large rear exhaust vents. These openings allow airflow to be adjusted as temperatures change.

ADV Pants Combine Abrasion Resistance and Impact Protection

The MSR Xplorer ADV Pants use the same eVent alpineST 3-layer fabric with a C0 DWR finish. SuperFabric overlays at the knees and 500D Cordura® in high-wear areas provide additional material reinforcement.

Removable D3O Level 1 knee and hip protectors are included for impact protection. The pants also feature two large zippered thigh intake vents and two rear exhaust vents to help regulate airflow during rides.

“When we looked to source materials for our MSR Xplorer ADV Jacket and Pants, eVent’s high-performance alpineST became the choice that made sense for us,” said Matt Rice, Powersports Product Director with Rocky Mountain ATV. “alpineST delivers the performance we demand from all of our products, with the added benefit of being PFAS-free. Removing PFAS from our products is a key strategy as regulations around their use continue to evolve.”

Additional Features for Riding Conditions

The jacket and pants can be connected using a zip-together system designed to keep the two garments securely in place. Other features include water-resistant YKK AquaGuard zippers, multiple storage options, reflective elements and adjustable fit features.

The 2027 MSR Xplorer ADV Jacket and MSR Xplorer ADV Pants are available through Rocky Mountain ATV/MC.
