Epic Group, a Hong Kong-based apparel company, is set to inaugurate its first manufacturing facility in India on April 29, 2026. The unit, located at the IDCO Industrial Estate in Khurda, Odisha, represents an investment of ₹220 crore. The project is being developed through its subsidiary, Trimetro Garments India Private Limited.

Epic Group has announced the launch of its first manufacturing plant in India, scheduled for April 29, 2026. The facility is being established at the IDCO Industrial Estate in Khurda, Odisha, through its subsidiary, Trimetro Garments India Private Limited.

The project involves an investment of ₹220 crore and spans more than 40 acres. The manufacturing unit has been designed as a “Green Factory” with plans to achieve Net Zero targets in both energy and water usage.

The project timeline experienced delays compared to earlier expectations. Initial agreements and land-related developments were reported in early 2024, with projections at that time indicating operations could begin by mid-to-late 2025. However, the use of advanced construction materials such as “Green Steel” TMT bars and the integration of industrial heat pump systems extended the development period, resulting in a revised launch timeline in 2026.

On April 8, 2026, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi referred to the project as part of a broader ₹40,811 crore industrial development activity in the state and confirmed that the facility is ready for commissioning.

The manufacturing unit is expected to create over 6,000 employment opportunities. The workforce will support garment production processes, including operations involving advanced manufacturing technologies.

The facility incorporates sustainability-focused technologies, including high-temperature electric heat pumps for industrial laundry applications. These systems are designed to reduce emissions compared to coal-based boiler systems.

The plant will also focus on the direct export of garments for global brands, with shipments originating from Odisha.

Epic Group’s Executive Chairman, Ranjan Mahtani, noted that Odisha was chosen for its “skilled workforce and pro-business environment.”

The inauguration marks the completion of the construction phase and the start of manufacturing operations at the site.
