Enviu 2025 Impact Report Highlights Growth in Circular Economy Ventures Across Multiple Markets

Report cites 202,000 tonnes of avoided CO₂-equivalent emissions, €7.9 mobilised for every euro of catalytic funding, and expanded impact across agrifood, textiles and reuse initiatives.
Enviu has published its 2025 Impact Report, presenting results from its portfolio of impact ventures operating across sectors including agrifood, textiles, plastics and circular economy solutions.
According to the report, every €1 of catalytic funding mobilised €7.9 in total capital across the agrifood portfolio, compared with €5.6 in 2024. Ventures addressing post-harvest food loss have cumulatively generated €7 million in monetised impact through improvements in farmer income, food security, employment and environmental outcomes.
The report also states that Enviu's ventures have cumulatively avoided 202,000 tonnes of CO₂-equivalent emissions and reduced nearly 10.7 million kilograms of waste, with both indicators increasing by more than 60% year-on-year. Women's participation in farming nearly doubled, while more than 1,600 micro-entrepreneurs gained sustainable economic opportunities.
Agrifood Initiatives in Kenya
In Kenya, SokoFresh has supported 19,634 farmers and value chain actors in reducing post-harvest food loss while increasing farmer incomes by 15–30%.
Another venture, Shambani Pro, connects smallholder farmers directly with buyers. According to the report, women now account for 55% of all participating farmers, representing an 88% year-on-year increase.
Peter Mutinda Muteti, 56, smallholder farmer, Kenya, said:
"Shambani Pro pays us fairly based on actual weight, and their prices are better. As a full-time farmer, I rely entirely on farming income, so consistency and fairness are very important to me."
Textile Waste Management in India
In India, Second Spin is working with 77 hotel partners across 10 cities to divert institutional textile waste from landfill.
The report states that workers at partner facility Saahas Zero Waste receive formal salaries benchmarked against city minimum wages, while the operational model has expanded to Gurgaon.
Reuse and Circular Economy Projects in Indonesia
In Indonesia, Alner increased its customer base by 30% during 2025, reducing 15.5 tonnes of single-use packaging through a network of 1,470 warungs and micro-retailers.
Enviu also co-founded AGUNI in 2025, described as Indonesia's first association focused on promoting reuse as a solution to plastic pollution. The initiative brings together government, industry and civil society organisations and currently supports more than 1,000 refill and reuse points across the country.
In Bali, the Destination Zero Waste initiative recorded a 76.6% reduction in single-use plastics across five hotels within three months. The programme has also led to the launch of a new venture, KemBali, to expand the model.
Dino Anthonio, General Manager, TUI BLUE Berawa, said:
"Our hotel launched its Destination Zero Waste Bali campaign in June, and while results show progress, the real success lies in the active participation of our guests and team members."
Reusable Packaging Initiative in the Netherlands
The report also highlights the Herbruikbare Wijnfles initiative in the Netherlands, which introduced the country's first universal reusable wine bottle system.
The programme is currently active across 81 hospitality and event venues, diverting 39,000 single-use bottles while achieving up to 83% CO₂ reduction per bottle. The initiative has since expanded through the EU-funded Interpool cross-border pooling project.
Additional Developments
The report identifies several developments across Enviu's portfolio:
- Women now represent 55% of farmers participating in Enviu's agrifood ventures in Kenya.
- The Allas pilot in Indonesia achieved a 93% cup return rate, avoiding 4,500 single-use items in one month across two institutions.
- In India, textile sorting initiatives are supporting formal employment opportunities for workers entering the recycling sector.
- Marine Metals in the Netherlands mobilised €8 for every €1 of early-stage funding, according to the report.
Enviu stated that the 2025 Impact Report is available publicly and that interviews with its Co-CEOs, venture teams and participating entrepreneurs are available upon request.
