In a recent press statement, EDANA praised the European Commission's proposal to postpone the Deforestation Regulation's (EUDR) implementation by a year. Although the Council and the European Parliament still need to approve this amendment, it is a big step in making sure that our industry has enough time to meet the sustainability goals of this important regulation and effectively comply with its terms.

The announcement coincided with the long-awaited release of the EUDR implementation guidelines, but the EU's information system for tracking materials and commodities is still in the planning stages. As a significant voice for the nonwovens industry, EDANA backs the goals of the rule and continues to be a helpful collaborator, actively participating in conversations with decision-makers and industry participants.

A seamless transition for all impacted industries will be ensured by this extra phase-in period, which will allow for continued cooperation with the government and our coalition partners. EDANA is still dedicated to encouraging ethical business practices and sustainable supply chains while assisting in ensuring industry-wide compliance. Our continuous efforts are intended to promote the industry's long-term, sustainable growth.
