Dornbirn-GFC 2025 to Spotlight Fibre Innovation & Safety

Dornbirn, June 2025 – The 64th Dornbirn Global Fibre Congress (GFC), scheduled from 10–12 September 2025 in Austria, will present over 100 expert lectures covering cutting-edge topics such as workwear and protective textiles, fibre innovation, and carbon stewardship. Recognised as a leading international platform, the event fosters knowledge sharing and collaboration across the fibre and textile industry.

This year’s event will feature “Innovation Days,” giving young innovators a live stage to pitch groundbreaking ideas in front of the full audience and a jury of industry experts. A standout innovation will receive a special award, reinforcing Dornbirn-GFC’s commitment to nurturing new talent.

Keynote speakers include:

• Brieuc Lits (EDANA, Belgium) on sustainability in nonwoven applications.
• Franz Josef Radermacher (FAW/n, Germany) on achieving prosperity and climate action simultaneously.
• Frederic van Houte (CIRFS, Belgium) on the evolving future of man-made fibres in Europe, including the presentation of the prestigious Paul Schlack Prize.

The conference will also showcase innovations in protective textiles, such as:

• Alexander Gstettner (Lenzing AG, Austria) highlighting the life-saving potential of LENZING™ FR fibres in firefighting gear by addressing heat stress.
• XLANCE (Italy) presenting flexible, durable stretch technology for workwear.
• Tencate (USA) introducing advanced flame-resistant textile solutions beyond standard protection.

Additional contributions will come from companies like Getzner Textil, Klopmann, PBI, and Kermel.

Further, the conference expands globally with Dornbirn GFC Asia/India, set to take place on 18 November 2025 in Mumbai, in partnership with Techtextil India 2025.
