Established in 2002 by the Chitkara Educational Trust, the Punjab campus of Chitkara University is located just 30 kilometers from Chandigarh, along the Chandigarh–Patiala National Highway. In 2010, Chitkara University was formally established by the Punjab State Legislature under “The Chitkara University Act.”
