Dilo Installs Advanced Needling Line at ALMA in Italy

ALMA SPA, based in Florence and a leading producer in the floor covering sector, has expanded its production capabilities with the installation of a state-of-the-art needling line from Dilo Systems GmbH, Germany. Known for delivering high-quality products in diverse styles, colors, and aesthetics, ALMA maintains in-house production of polypropylene (PP) fiber to ensure consistent quality and meet broad production demands.

Their product lines span across four primary market sectors: exhibition carpets, artificial grass, automotive interiors including car mats, and domestic DIY applications. To maintain high quality while remaining competitively priced, ALMA invested in a new advanced production line from DiloGroup, which was engineered in close collaboration between ALMA’s management and DILO’s technical team.

The custom-built line includes components from fibre blending and filtration (DiloTemafa), card feeding and carding (DiloSpinnbau), to high-speed crosslapping and a 6-meter-wide needling section from DiloMachines. It also incorporates inline DI-LOOP technology for rapid structuring, as well as modern process control systems and the Industry 4.0-enabled DI-Connect for optimized digital monitoring and efficiency.

The Casini family, owners of ALMA, confirmed the line’s seamless installation and startup, which was facilitated by close coordination between DILO’s service team and ALMA’s technical staff. The new setup has successfully achieved full production capacity while maintaining the high standards of ALMA’s signature quality.
