Belgium-based textile chemistry specialist Devan participated in Heimtextil 2026, held from 13 to 16 January in Frankfurt, where it introduced a portfolio of functional textile technologies designed to improve sleep comfort and overall well-being. The global trade fair brought together stakeholders from across the home and contract textile value chain, offering a platform for Devan to present its latest developments in comfort, safety, and sustainability.

During Heimtextil 2026, Devan highlighted a series of textile solutions responding to increasing demand for materials that support thermal regulation, moisture control, and personal well-being in sleep and home textile applications.

One of the central technologies on display was Devan Comfort, a patented polymer-based solution developed to support thermal balance throughout the night. The technology actively manages heat and moisture, addressing common issues such as heat retention and humidity buildup that can disrupt sleep. By regulating these factors, Devan Comfort aims to maintain a stable and comfortable sleep environment.

Devan also expanded its Devan Revital portfolio with two new well-being-focused active ingredients. Recovera is designed as a synergistic blend to help soothe the body and support natural recovery processes, while Mood Boost is formulated to promote relaxation and emotional balance through everyday textile use. Both ingredients are delivered using Devan’s patented micro-encapsulation technology, which has been clinically tested with multiple bioactive components and textile substrates. The system allows controlled release of bioactives through skin contact and/or olfactive inhalation over extended periods.

In the area of fire safety, Devan introduced Devan Bioflam, a flame retardant solution with a reported 95% biobased content. Derived entirely from renewable resources, Bioflam is free from halogens, heavy metals, and antimony, while maintaining flame-retardant performance and preserving the fabric’s natural hand feel.

For foam-based applications, Devan presented Devan Cool TOC HC 404, a patented cooling technology developed to deliver an instant cool-touch sensation while supporting long-term thermoregulation. The solution is designed to dissipate excess body heat and maintain thermal comfort, particularly in applications where temperature control is critical.

Additionally, Devan showcased Devan Quickdry – Devatec Wik Bio, a moisture management technology based on renewable, plant-derived raw materials. The solution is described as readily biodegradable, with a reported bio-based content of 100%, supporting more sustainable textile processing.

Commenting on the technologies presented, Dr. Roberto Teixeira, Chief Technology Officer at Devan, said:
"Our goal is to combine science and comfort in ways that genuinely improve everyday life. From active cooling to well-being-enhancing textiles, each innovation we present is designed to help people sleep better, feel better and enjoy fabrics that work as hard as they do. Heimtextil gives us the perfect stage to share these solutions with the global textile community."

Devan’s participation at Heimtextil 2026 underlined its ongoing focus on functional textile finishes and its role in supporting innovation across the global home textile sector.
