Dr. Mukesh Kansal, Chairman of CTA Apparels, expressed strong support and optimism following the first meeting of the Task Force on Textiles Exports, chaired by Commerce Secretary Shri Sunil Barthwal. Sharing his perspective on this significant initiative, Dr. Kansal stated: "The convening of the Task Force on Textiles Exports under the able leadership of Shri Sunil Barthwal is a timely and commendable initiative by the Government of India. Establishing a unified platform to address sectoral challenges through inclusive stakeholder dialogue is essential for unlocking the full potential of India’s textile & apparel exports. The breadth of issues covered — from ESG infrastructure and renewable energy to regulatory simplification, e-commerce, skilling, and MSME support — reflects a holistic understanding of the textile value chain and its evolving global demands. What stands out is the government’s intent to transform the sector through collaborative governance and actionable policy pathways. The decision to form issue-specific sub-task forces is particularly welcome, as it enables targeted, results-driven solutions. At CTA Apparels, we view this as a vital opportunity to align industry aspirations with national export goals, particularly as we look ahead to the ambitious target of USD 100 billion in textile and apparel exports and the broader Viksit Bharat Vision 2047. We are proud to contribute to this journey and reaffirm our commitment to sustainability, competitiveness, and excellence in Indian textiles."
