Empowering Women in Renewable Energy Through Skill and Innovation

In a pioneering step towards Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Apraava Energy is proud to introduce its first all-women operations team at the 100 MW Veltoor Solar Plant in Telangana.

This initiative, among the first of its kind in India, reflects Apraava’s commitment to fostering gender diversity and actively integrating women engineers into operational roles within renewable energy. By bringing a unique blend of technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills, this team is driving operational excellence while setting a benchmark for inclusivity in the energy sector.

A Team of Skilled Engineers Powering Change

The all-women operations team consists of four talented engineers—Dudimetla Tejaswini, Anusha Rudramuni, Indhusree Rudramuni, and Koretha Suguna—all specializing in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Recruited through Apraava Energy’s partner, Param Renewable Energy, they have been instrumental in managing the plant’s morning shift operations. Additionally, Jhaswini Kumari P and Mani Deepthi Meda from Apraava Energy oversee the plant’s broader operational activities.

Driving Impact in Renewable Energy

Speaking on this milestone, Deepa Sebastian, Senior Vice President – HR, Apraava Energy, stated:

“Our all-women team is a proud testament to Apraava’s commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion, respect, and equal opportunity. On this International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our resolve to champion DEI and accelerate initiatives that empower women to thrive, excel, and lead in the renewable energy sector.”

Apraava Energy actively invests in skill development, mentorship, and technical training programs, equipping its workforce with practical expertise and leadership capabilities. These initiatives enable women engineers to take on critical operational responsibilities and advance their careers in the clean energy sector.

Breaking Barriers and Inspiring Future Leaders

Indhusree Rudramuni, who plays a key role in tracker restoration at the plant, shared her experience:

“This is my first time working at a solar plant, and the hands-on experience has been truly enriching. It is an incredible opportunity to acquire new skills and a major step forward in my career within the fast-evolving renewable energy sector.”

Apraava Energy’s all-women operations team is a bold step toward normalizing women’s participation in traditionally male-dominated industries. By fostering an environment that supports and encourages women in engineering and clean energy, the company aims to inspire future generations of female leaders in the industry.

With continued investment in gender-inclusive policies and workforce development, Apraava Energy is confident that these engineers will not only excel in their roles but also shape the future of sustainable energy in India.
