Circulose and M&S Partner to Scale Circular Fashion in the UK

Marks & Spencer joins Circulose as the first UK Scaling Partner
Circulose has announced a strategic collaboration with Marks & Spencer (M&S), marking a major step toward accelerating the global transition to circular fashion through large-scale adoption of textile-to-textile materials.
Circulose has entered a landmark partnership with Marks & Spencer (M&S), making the heritage British retailer the first UK brand to join as a Circulose Scaling Partner. This collaboration signifies a pivotal move in reshaping the fashion industry’s approach to circularity—bridging the gap between innovation and large-scale adoption.
By partnering with Circulose, M&S is reinforcing its long-standing commitment to sustainability and circular design. The retailer plans to incorporate a substantial amount of CIRCULOSE®, Circulose’s next-generation material made entirely from textile waste, into its future collections. This step aims to drive broader industry adoption of circular materials that reduce reliance on virgin fibers and promote resource efficiency.
CIRCULOSE® is a breakthrough material that transforms discarded garments and textile waste into a new, high-quality raw material for fashion production. It enables brands to cut dependence on virgin tree-based fibers while maintaining product performance and aesthetics. By recycling textile waste into fresh fiber, Circulose helps reduce landfill waste, lower carbon emissions, and alleviate pressure on forests—paving the way for a truly circular fashion ecosystem.
“We are thrilled to welcome M&S as Circulose’s first Scaling Partner in the UK,” said Jonatan Janmark, CEO of Circulose. “Their leadership in sustainability and commitment to circular fashion will be key to accelerating the adoption of next-generation fibers. This partnership is part of a broader global effort, with more brands soon joining our journey.”
Katharine Beacham, Head of Materials and Sustainability at M&S, added: “Partnering with Circulose allows us to bring circular design to life. It’s a vital step in moving beyond pilot projects and integrating next-generation materials into our mainstream sourcing strategy. This approach will help us reduce virgin fiber use, minimize waste, and build a more resilient, future-ready fashion industry.”
This collaboration also reflects Circulose’s evolving commercial approach, focused on empowering brands to scale circular materials through hands-on implementation and licensing support. The model enables brands to go beyond capsule collections, embedding sustainable materials across the full textile value chain.
