Cinte Techtextil China 2026 to Spotlight AI and High-Growth Textile Segments
Trade fairs play a critical role in generating meaningful business interactions, and Cinte Techtextil China continues to refine its format to align with emerging industry directions. By identifying promising sub-sectors in technical textiles and nonwovens, the exhibition has introduced new themed zones and enhanced its supporting events. These initiatives contributed to a 17% rise in visitor attendance at the previous edition. Building on this momentum, the fair will return from 1 to 3 September 2026 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
For the 2026 edition, the exhibition will once again feature the Textile Chemicals and Dyes Zone and the European Zone, both of which attracted strong interest previously. Organisers will also intensify efforts to promote artificial intelligence (AI), which is increasingly being adopted across textile applications. Upgraded fringe programmes, including the AI Panel Discussion, Econogy Tour and Sustainability Forum, are being curated to respond to evolving industry priorities.
Outlining the strategic focus of the upcoming fair, Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said:

The growing relevance of AI in textiles is driven by demands for improved quality, operational efficiency and sustainable practices. The global market for AI in textiles, valued at USD 4.12 billion in 2025, is projected to reach USD 68.44 billion by 2035, with Asia-Pacific leading adoption in 2024. As an international platform serving the Asia-Pacific region and beyond, Cinte Techtextil China will place greater emphasis on AI-related topics and demonstrations. Through Messe Frankfurt’s Texpertise Network, the exhibition will align with the “Texpertise Focus AI” initiative, supported by an expanded and more targeted AI Panel Discussion.
Reflecting on previous participation, Prof Calvin Wong, CEO & Centre Director of Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence in Design (AiDLab), said:
“We have been in touch with many potential clients, who still have limited understanding of AI.”
He further noted:
“A lot of participants asked relevant questions about factory operations. Academia-industry collaboration is essential for R&D projects, as understanding industry needs is key to producing effective, transferable research results. By participating in trade fairs, we gain direct insights from potential clients, allowing us to adjust our technology to better meet market demands. Exhibiting and speaking at the fair maximised our communication and connection with both new and existing clients.”
Positioned as an Asian counterpart to the global Techtextil series, Cinte Techtextil China covers the full value chain of technical textiles and nonwovens. The previous edition introduced textile chemicals and dyes as a new product category, opening additional commercial opportunities. First-time exhibitors in this zone, including Dupre Minerals and Michelman, reported positive business outcomes.
Commenting on market engagement, Mr Reece Berrisford, Sales Manager of Dupre Minerals, said:
“Chinese visitors appreciate seeing new European suppliers, and we’ve identified new potential markets for filtration and air conditioning fabrics. We believe China’s demand for innovative solutions is strong, particularly in fire protection. The potential customers we met are mainly Chinese – our target – with the rest from Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, and more.”
International buyers also highlighted the diversity of products and exhibitors. Mr Harald Bartisch, CEO of Blue Brain Alpha Science Coaching/Consulting from Austria, observed:
“The fair’s internationality allowed me to discover unique materials and techniques from various places, including European countries like Germany, as well as Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong and around the world. There are a lot of foreign visitors here as well. Spanning three halls, the fair is a sizable, effective sourcing platform – it’s easy to meet people face-to-face and to see the products.”
In 2026, the exhibition will continue to host the European Zone, Textile Chemicals and Dyes Zone, and a series of targeted events aimed at strengthening business connections. Alongside the expanded AI Panel Discussion, the Econogy Tour and Sustainability Forum will focus on supporting environmentally responsible practices. Additional programmes such as the China International Nonwovens Conference, Innovation Product Award and Presentation will provide further technical and market insights.
The previous edition recorded close to 20,000 visits from 74 countries and regions. With renewed emphasis on technology-driven solutions and sustainability, the 2026 fair aims to facilitate fresh partnerships and knowledge exchange across the sector.
Covering 12 application areas, the exhibition encompasses the full range of technical textile and nonwoven uses, from raw materials and machinery to finished products and chemical solutions. This comprehensive scope positions the fair as a business platform for all segments of the industry.
Cinte Techtextil China 2026 will take place from 1 to 3 September 2026. The event is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry of CCPIT, and the China Nonwovens & Industrial Textiles Association (CNITA).
