Chintan Shivir to Launch National Flag Recycling & Aramid Tech

The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), in partnership with the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, is hosting a high-level Chintan Shivir (Deliberation Camp) on Friday, 28 November 2025, at Geeta Sarovar Portico, G.T. Road, Panipat.
Held under the theme “Panipat’s Textile Industry’s Technical Transformation: High Value, Better Tomorrow,” the event marks a crucial advancement toward strengthening Panipat’s role as a major center for manufacturing and exporting technical textiles. The initiative aligns with national economic objectives and supports the long-term Vision 2047 roadmap.
The Shivir will bring together an influential panel of policymakers, scientists, and industry specialists from the Ministry of Textiles, NITRA, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), IIT Delhi, IIT Mandi, financial institutions, and leading manufacturers. Their participation underscores the government’s commitment to empowering and supporting entrepreneurs through multiple schemes under the NTTM.
A key highlight will be the unveiling and demonstration of cutting-edge recycling technology developed through NTTM and coordinated by IIT Delhi.
The Atal Center of Textile Recycling and Sustainability, established in Panipat under IIT Delhi’s guidance, has achieved significant progress in the field of sustainable textile innovation. The Centre is focused on high-performance textile waste recycling, startup incubation, and advancing the National Flag Recycling Initiative.
During the Shivir, the National Flag Recycling Initiative, led by the Sewaj Neesim Foundation, will be formally launched. This initiative promotes the dignified and environmentally responsible recycling of retired Indian national flags using advanced textile recycling methods. IIT Delhi has successfully transferred this specialized technology to Sewaj Neesim Foundation.
Additionally, the Centre’s Aramid Fiber Recycling Program will be showcased, highlighting groundbreaking solutions for recycling and repurposing high-performance aramid waste—benefiting a wide range of technical textile enterprises.
The Chintan Shivir is curated to support MSMEs, business owners, startups, decision-makers, laboratories, hotels, hospitals, recyclers, and academic institutions. Core discussion tracks will focus on vital growth areas, including:
