CCIC Showcases ‘Soul Threads’ Heritage Designer Collection in New Delhi

Ongoing exhibition at Jawahar Vyapar Bhawan features curated artisanal textiles, jewellery, and home décor until May 10, 2026
The Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India (CCIC), operating under the Ministry of Textiles, is showcasing its inaugural heritage designer collection, “Soul Threads,” as part of its ongoing revival efforts.
The exhibition is being held at CCIC’s flagship showroom at Jawahar Vyapar Bhawan, Janpath, New Delhi, and will continue until May 10, 2026. It features a curated range of artisanal products, including sarees, designer wear, jewellery, and home furnishings.
The exhibition was inaugurated on April 24, 2026, by Mrs. Neelam Shami Rao, IAS, Secretary (Textiles). The event was attended by dignitaries including Mr. Rohit Kansal, Secretary, Department of Rural Development; Dr. M. Beena, Development Commissioner (Handloom); Ms. Amrit Raj, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts); Mr. Akhilesh Kumar, Chairman, CCIC; and Cmde Rajiv Ashok, Managing Director, CCIC, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Textiles.

The inaugural evening included a preview of the collection and a fashion presentation showcasing the Heritage Designer Collection. The designs draw from traditional Indian textile practices while incorporating contemporary elements. Cultural performances by folk artists were also part of the programme.
The “Soul Threads” exhibition brings together designers, artisans, and performers on a common platform, in line with CCIC’s efforts to present and support traditional textile craftsmanship.
