Carrefour Opens Second India Store in Ghaziabad as Apparel Group Expands Retail Footprint

The 2,000-square-metre store at ANSA City Centre strengthens Carrefour’s presence in the National Capital Region as the partnership targets further expansion across India.

Apparel Group has opened Carrefour’s second store in India at ANSA City Centre, Ghaziabad, expanding the international retailer’s presence in the National Capital Region (NCR). The launch follows the opening of Carrefour’s first flagship store at H&S Mall (Boulevard Walk), Greater Noida West.

The expansion is part of the strategic partnership between Apparel Group and Carrefour, which aims to bring the retailer’s product range and shopping experience to more Indian consumers.

New Store Offers Everyday Shopping Categories

Located at ANSA City Centre, the new store spans 2,000 square metres and is designed around local shopping preferences.

Its product selection includes fresh produce, daily bakery items, groceries, household essentials, personal care products and other everyday categories. The store combines international brands with locally sourced products to serve the varied needs of Indian households.

The opening comes amid changes in India’s retail sector, driven by urbanisation, rising consumer aspirations and demand for organised retail experiences. Through its partnership with Carrefour, Apparel Group is combining the retailer’s international expertise and product offering with its own understanding of Indian consumers and local market operations.

Apparel Group Plans Further Expansion

Beyond the opening of the Ghaziabad store, Apparel Group aims to develop a scalable retail platform for Carrefour across India. The company plans to expand into additional markets, supported by domestic sourcing networks, logistics infrastructure and localised supply chain capabilities.

Mr. Nilesh Ved, Chairman of APPCORP Holding, Owner of Apparel Group and Founder of KORA Properties, said:

“Carrefour’s second store in India represents another important step in our ambition to establish a strong and enduring presence in one of the world’s most promising consumer markets. The momentum following our Greater Noida launch reinforces our confidence in the opportunities ahead, as Indian consumers increasingly seek greater choice, international quality and exceptional value. Through our partnership with Carrefour, we are bringing together global retail expertise and deep local market understanding to create a platform designed for long-term scale. The Ghaziabad opening strengthens our presence across the NCR and takes us further towards our vision of making Carrefour a trusted retail destination for households across India.”

Partnership Focuses on India's Retail Market

Mr. Patrick Lasfargues, Executive Director – International Partnership, Carrefour, said:

“The opening of our second store in India marks an important step in Carrefour’s journey in this market. Following the launch of our first flagship in Greater Noida, expanding into Ghaziabad enables us to bring our retail proposition to an even broader consumer base in the NCR. We look forward to continuing this journey and expanding our presence across India.”

The partnership will also focus on strengthening domestic supplier relationships, expanding local sourcing and developing an integrated omnichannel retail ecosystem. Technology, modern logistics infrastructure and strategic partnerships are expected to support the integration of physical retail with changing consumer expectations.

With the Ghaziabad opening, Apparel Group and Carrefour are continuing their efforts to expand the retailer’s presence in India, combining international retail operations with local sourcing and supply chain capabilities.
