CareEdge Nepal Reports Stable Economy in Feb 2026 Update

CareEdge Nepal has released its latest economic assessment titled “Nepal Economy Update – February 2026,” highlighting steady macroeconomic conditions, improving external sector strength, and gradual recovery in tourism.
Key highlights:
- Nepal’s CPI increased to 2.4% (y-o-y) in mid-January, from 1.6% in mid-December.
- Trade deficit widened to Rs 147.3 billion in mid-January, from Rs 133.7 billion a month earlier.
- Nepal recorded a current account surplus of Rs 429.9 billion and a BoP surplus of Rs 501.2 billion in H1.
- Tourism sector showed signs of gradual recovery, with arrivals increasing on a year-on-year basis.
