Bombay Dyeing Warns Against Fake “Coral Vine Plus” Bedsheets

Bombay Dyeing alerts Kerala consumers after counterfeit bedsheets falsely bearing its brand are detected, urging buyers to verify authenticity through holograms and QR codes.

Bombay Dyeing, a pioneer in India’s home textile industry, has issued a public warning regarding counterfeit bedsheet sets labeled “Coral Vine Plus”, which misleadingly feature the Bombay Dyeing brand name and logo. The company has confirmed that it neither manufactures nor sells any product under this name.

The issue came to light when customers visiting Bombay Dyeing’s authorised showrooms in Calicut sought clarification on pricing. Staff quickly identified the sets as fake, noting several clear discrepancies:

Unauthorized use of the Bombay Dyeing name and logo
Missing official hologram sticker
Fabric quality significantly below authentic standards
No product listing in the company’s official catalogue
Misleading packaging designed to deceive consumers

Showroom personnel guided customers on verifying authenticity using the genuine QR-coded hologram, which confirms original Bombay Dyeing products.

In response, Bombay Dyeing has launched an investigation to trace the source of counterfeit distribution and identify those responsible.

CFO Mr. Khiroda Jena stated, “This incident highlights how counterfeiters are misleading consumers with inferior products under the Bombay Dyeing name. We urge customers to purchase only from authorised retailers and to always verify the hologram and QR code. Protecting our customers and maintaining brand integrity is our top priority, and we are taking immediate action to trace the source of these counterfeits.”
