Former TIC Council Director General to lead bluesign’s next phase with a focus on compliance, verified data and responsible textile production
bluesign, an SGS company that works with the textile industry to reduce environmental and social impacts across the value chain, has appointed Hanane Taidi as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The appointment comes as the organisation expands its role in supporting companies with compliance, transparency and verified data amid evolving regulatory requirements.

With more than 25 years of industry leadership, bluesign, an SGS company, has established a system for textile production designed to meet safety and environmental standards. As regulatory frameworks continue to evolve and expectations around transparency and accountability increase, the organisation is expanding its operational role to help companies address compliance requirements, verified data, and implementation across the textile value chain.
Before joining bluesign, Hanane Taidi served as Director General of TIC Council, the international organisation representing the testing, inspection and certification industry. In that role, she led cross-regional strategy across Europe, the United States, China, and India. During her tenure, she oversaw the integration of two global organisations into a single body representing the industry.
According to the company, her appointment aligns with bluesign’s position within the testing, inspection and certification ecosystem. Taidi has also served as a European Commission expert since 2014, bringing experience in working with regulatory bodies.
The company stated that she will support bluesign as the textile industry adapts to regulatory frameworks including CSRD and ESPR. bluesign said its system approach connects partners throughout the supply chain while providing independent verification to support transparency and measurable environmental performance.
As CEO, Taidi will focus on expanding bluesign’s existing framework while increasing its role in supporting responsible production and regulatory compliance. The company said her priorities include expanding access to verified data across all tiers of manufacturing, strengthening collaboration across the System Partner network, and translating regulatory requirements into practical solutions for brands and manufacturers.
