Birla Cellulose and Circulose Partner to Scale Circular Textile Solutions

Birla Cellulose, a global leader in sustainable viscose fibre, and Circulose, a leading producer of regenerated textile pulp, have entered into a cooperation agreement aimed at accelerating textile recycling and advancing circularity across the textile value chain.
Under the agreement, Circulose will supply pulp made entirely from 100% textile waste to Birla Cellulose. The pulp will be used to manufacture regenerated textile fibres that will be delivered to downstream value-chain partners. The collaboration is designed to strengthen supply-chain resilience while ensuring a dependable and scalable supply of recycled fibres for sustainable textile applications.
Strengthening Sustainable Sourcing and Fibre Innovation
The partnership reinforces Birla Cellulose’s long-standing focus on responsible raw material sourcing and circular fibre innovation. By integrating Circulose’s regenerated pulp into its fibre production, Birla Cellulose aims to expand the availability of high-quality recycled fibres for brands and manufacturers seeking to reduce their environmental footprint.
“Our partnership with Circulose marks a significant step forward in advancing sustainable and responsible sourcing. Through this collaboration, we reaffirm our commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainability conscious fibre solutions that empower our customers and contribute to a circular future”
said Vadiraj Kulkarni, Business Head, Birla Cellulose.
Collaboration as a Catalyst for Circular Textiles
Circulose highlighted the importance of ecosystem partnerships in enabling large-scale adoption of circular materials. The cooperation with Birla Cellulose aligns with Circulose’s strategy to place brands at the centre of circular textile solutions while ensuring commercial viability and mainstream scalability.
“Over the past year, we have refined our approach to put brands at the centre, with a clear focus on creating offerings that enable mainstream adoption. Achieving this requires closer collaboration with key partners across the value chain. Our partnership with Birla Cellulose is a cornerstone of our strategy, and we’re very excited to have them onboard”
said Jonatan Janmark, CEO, Circulose.
Accelerating the Transition to a Circular Textile Value Chain
The cooperation agreement reflects a shared vision to accelerate the transition toward a more resilient, transparent, and sustainable textile ecosystem, supporting industry-wide efforts to reduce reliance on virgin raw materials and increase the use of recycled content in fibre production.
