Biobased Coatings Europe 2026 to Accelerate Sustainable Coatings Transition

Industry stakeholders to address sustainability, regulation, and innovation in coatings
Biobased Coatings Europe 2026 will bring together decision-makers from across the coatings value chain, including formulators, material developers, sustainability professionals, and regulators. The conference is designed to examine technical and commercial developments influencing the transition toward bio-based coatings.
Scheduled for 10th & 11th June 2026 in Düsseldorf, Germany, the event will cover a range of sector-specific topics over two days. Key discussion areas include achieving cost parity with conventional coatings, navigating European Union microplastics legislation and biodegradability requirements, and balancing durability with biodegradability in new formulations.
Additional topics on the agenda include diversification of bio-based feedstocks to improve supply chain resilience, reducing carbon footprints through alternative raw materials, and assessing lifecycle risks and alternatives related to titanium dioxide.
The programme will begin with a keynote address by Dorothee Arns, Director General of FECC, focusing on regulatory developments affecting the chemical and coatings sectors.
Participants will also hear technical insights and case studies from organisations operating across the coatings industry, including Arkema, Covestro, Sherwin-Williams, Elementis, Verbio, Stahl, Nestlé, and Beckers Group, among others.
The event will provide a platform for industry participants to review developments related to sustainability requirements and engage with stakeholders involved in the coatings sector.
