Bharat Tex 2026 Generates Business Enquiries Worth $2.8 Billion, Attracts ₹14,300 Crore in Textile Investment Commitments

More than 30 MoUs signed as participating states announce investment proposals, while the India-UK FTA is expected to support growth in textile and apparel exports.

Bharat Tex 2026 generated business enquiries worth about $2.8 billion and secured textile investment commitments of ₹14,300 crore across states, highlighting ongoing investment activity in the sector as India broadens its free trade agreement (FTA) network.

During the event, participating states signed more than 30 memorandums of understanding (MoUs). Andhra Pradesh led the investment proposals with commitments of ₹4,100 crore, followed by Karnataka with ₹2,821 crore, Bihar with ₹1,476 crore, and Maharashtra with ₹1,095 crore.

The announced projects are expected to create more than 11,000 jobs in Karnataka and over 40,500 jobs in Bihar.

The India-UK FTA, which came into force on Wednesday, is expected to strengthen India's textile and apparel exports.

"The India-UK FTA is likely to increase apparel and textile exports by 20-25% every year," said Naren Goenka, chairman of Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF). Goenka said the event generated business enquiries worth about $2.8 billion and added that as India expands its FTA network, textile exports are expected to grow 15-20% annually.

India's textile and apparel exports stood at about ₹3.16 lakh crore in 2025-26. The industry is targeting exports of ₹9 lakh crore by 2030.
