Bharat Tex 2026 Draws 95,000 Business Visitors, 6,090 International Buyers in First Three Days

Event at Bharat Mandapam records investment commitments, global participation, B2B meetings and industry knowledge sessions

Bharat Tex 2026 has reported strong participation during the first three days of the event at Bharat Mandapam. The exhibition brought together exhibitors, buyers, delegates, policymakers and industry representatives from India and abroad, alongside business meetings, investment announcements and sector-focused discussions.

Spread across more than 16 lakh square feet, Bharat Tex 2026 featured 1,647 exhibitors, nearly 95,000 business visitors with over 20,000 repeat visits, 11,315 buyers, including 6,090 international buyers, and 3,461 delegates and participants from 138 countries.

According to the event details, more than 28,500 B2B meetings, over 100 B2G and G2G interactions, and several strategic investment discussions were held during the first three days.

The event catalysed around INR 14,300 crore of textile investment commitments through 30+ MoUs signed by various States. The announced commitments include:

  • Karnataka: INR 2,821 crore, 11,020 jobs
  • Bihar: INR 1,476 crore, 40,500+ jobs
  • Maharashtra: INR 1,095 Crore
  • Andhra Pradesh: INR 4,100 crore

Additionally, RE&UP announced an investment of INR 4,800 Crores in India. The event also generated serious business enquiries worth approximately $2.8 Bn.

States Participate Through Dedicated Pavilions

The event included participation from Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu as State Partners, while several other states and Union Territories showcased their textile sectors through dedicated pavilions.

Among those attending were Hon'ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Punjab, Shri Bhagwant Singh Mann, and senior ministers from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Delegations Attend From 138 Countries

International participation included ministerial delegations from New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Russia, Cambodia and Portugal, representatives from the European Union, and more than 30 industry and international business delegations from countries including the United States, Japan, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, South Korea, UAE, Australia, France and Germany, among others.

Knowledge Sessions Cover Trade, Sustainability and Technology

Bharat Tex 2026 hosted 100 knowledge sessions featuring more than 600 policymakers, global experts, industry leaders, CXOs and academicians.

The sessions included panel discussions, roundtables and masterclasses on:

  • Global trade dynamics
  • Sustainability
  • Circularity
  • Technological innovation
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Responsible sourcing
  • Investment opportunities
  • Technical textiles

The Sanrachna Hackathon at the TBD Pavilion showcased technical textile innovations developed by students and innovators from across India. Exhibits included protective garments for farmers, advanced diabetic wound-care products and lightweight insulated mattresses for extreme climates.

The initiative was recognised by Hon'ble Union Minister of Textiles Shri Giriraj Singh and Hon'ble Minister of State for Textiles and External Affairs Shri Pabitra Margherita.

Exposure Programme for MSMEs and Weavers

The event organised specialised exposure visits for more than 250 entrepreneurs and weavers from Aspirational Districts across India.

The programme enabled MSMEs to interact with buyers, exhibitors and industry experts while learning about international quality standards, branding, product innovation and export opportunities.

Bharat Tex 2026 also hosted the Board Meeting of the International Apparel Federation (IAF).

BTTF and Première Vision Paris Sign Letter of Intent

During the event, the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) and Première Vision Paris signed a Letter of Intent (LoI).

The collaboration aims to deepen India–European Union textile partnerships by enhancing market access, sustainable sourcing, design intelligence and buyer-seller engagement for Indian manufacturers, exporters and MSMEs.

Industry Discussion Focuses on Heritage Textiles

The event also included discussions on positioning India's heritage textiles in international markets.

Designers Rahul Mishra and Vaishali Shadangule, along with industry leaders, discussed the role of India's handlooms, handicrafts and traditional weaving in international markets through craftsmanship and cultural storytelling.

Brands of India Pavilion Showcases Apparel Segment

The CMAI's Brands of India Pavilion in Hall No. 4 featured more than 70 leading Indian apparel brands.

For the first time, the pavilion included a dedicated showcase of India's Intimate & Innerwear segment, with brands from Mumbai and Delhi presenting their latest product innovations.

Brands showcased at the pavilion included Westside, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, US Polo Assn, Arrow, Flying Machine, Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, Reebok, American Eagle, Ralph Lauren, Sabyasachi, Tarun Tahiliani, Jaypore, W for Woman, Bewakoof, Dollar, Bodycare, Duke and several others.

Eco-Stitch Hub Highlights Sustainability Initiatives

The Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub, jointly presented by CMAI and the Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability (GATS), was organised around the theme "Sustainable, Circular and Competitive Bharat."

The pavilion included the following thematic zones:

  • India Impact Wall
  • Circularity at Scale
  • From Waste to Global Wardrobe
  • Made in Circular Bharat
  • Material & Innovation Library
  • Circular Bharat Forum

These sections brought together recyclers, manufacturers, brands, innovators, technology providers and ecosystem partners.

The exhibition also continued to host conference sessions, networking activities and buyer-exhibitor interactions throughout the venue during the first three days.
