Bemberg™ by Asahi Kasei returns post-summer with a renewed agenda, major leadership change, new creative partnerships, and global engagements.

Leadership Transition at Asahi Kasei Fibers Italia
Junshu Furusawa has been appointed CEO of Asahi Kasei Fibers Italia, succeeding Koji Hamada, who returns to Japan after four years of leading the European division. Furusawa, with nearly two decades of experience within the Bemberg™ Division and four years in Italy, brings a strong background in product innovation, strategy, and transparent communication. His leadership reaffirms Bemberg™’s commitment to responsible innovation, design excellence, and collaboration across the European fashion and textile industry.

Debut of Responsible Liturgical Vestments
Bemberg™ has ventured into a new category – religious wardrobes – with the launch of “POPOLO IN CAMMINO – PELLEGRINI DI SPERANZA”, a sustainable liturgical vestment collection designed by the Sister Disciples of the Divine Master. This collection honors Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’ and highlights Bemberg™’s unique circular economy footprint, traceable supply chain, and certified sustainability credentials. Produced with textiles by Brunello, this initiative represents a milestone in responsible fashion innovation.

Spotlight on Global Textile Fairs
Following its success at Milano Unica where 18 partner mills showcased their Fall/Winter 2026–2027 collections, Bemberg™ continues its creative journey at major events including FILO 64, Première Vision Paris, Feel the Yarn – Istanbul Edition, and Denim by Première Vision. Visitors will see new applications, including the liturgical wardrobe, and discover the latest fabric innovations at partner booths such as Brunello, Inovafil, Manifattura Pezzetti, Matias & Araújo, Sidónios, and Teseo.

Bemberg™ Featured on SKY TG24
Earlier this year, SKY TG24 released a two-part special documentary on Bemberg™’s production process in Japan. Viewers were offered a rare look inside the closed-loop manufacturing system, showcasing chemical recovery, renewable hydroelectric energy, and minimal waste operations. The program featured insights from Mr. Kaoru Hashimoto, Senior GM of the Bemberg Division, and highlighted collaborations with Tokyo-based brand Photocopieu, demonstrating Bemberg™’s role in creating sustainable, elegant fashion.

At its core, Bemberg™ remains a premium regenerated fiber made from cotton linters through a transparent, traceable, closed-loop process in Japan. Renowned for its silky softness, breathability, moisture control, and versatility, Bemberg™ is shaping the future of responsible luxury fashion.
