Beaulieu International Group Acquires IFG Asota GMBH to Expand Fibre Division

Beaulieu International Group (B.I.G.) has signed a share purchase agreement to acquire all shares of IFG Asota GMBH, an Austria-based fibre company. The acquisition is aimed at enhancing Beaulieu’s Fibres Division (BFI) and advancing its position in the global synthetic staple fibres market.
Beaulieu International Group (B.I.G.) announced it has entered into a share purchase agreement to acquire IFG Asota GMBH, a fibre company based in Austria and a participant in the global synthetic staple fibres sector. The acquisition is intended to strengthen Beaulieu’s Fibres Division (BFI) and support its objective of becoming a partner for sustainable nonwoven solutions.
IFG Asota GMBH specializes in polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA), polyethylene (PE), and biopolymer fibres such as PLA, serving markets including flooring, automotive, filtration, and technical applications. The company operates a research center with a pilot line that allows for prototyping new fibres, supporting accelerated development timelines. Its expertise in technical applications and biobased and recycled polymers contributes to Beaulieu’s product development objectives.
The acquisition is described as a strategic fit for Beaulieu Fibres International (BFI), aligning with the company’s aim to be “the most complete staple fibre expert.”
“Our ambition is clear,” said Jean-Baptiste De Ruyck, CEO. “We are building a flexible and agile global platform that reinforces our leadership, strengthens our presence in existing markets, and opens the door to new, untapped territories. The acquisition of Asota accelerates this journey.”
The move also supports Beaulieu’s broader strategy to strengthen its position in Europe and internationally. Combining Beaulieu’s industrial operations with Asota’s materials expertise and R&D capabilities is expected to enhance the Group’s capacity to serve customers worldwide.
In connection with the acquisition, IFG Exelto will enter into a toll manufacturing agreement with BFI following the closing. Under this agreement, Exelto will manufacture fibres for BFI to ensure operational flexibility, maintain manufacturing capacity, and support customer service.
Upon completion of the transaction, Beaulieu and IFG Asota GMBH plan to continue investing in innovation, sustainability, and customer-focused solutions for the nonwoven and technical textile markets. The acquisition represents a step in Beaulieu’s long-term growth strategy for the Fibres Division.
