Barmag, a company under the Swiss Oerlikon Group, is set to present a wide array of sustainable solutions for the plastics industry at K 2025, held from October 8–15. Under the theme “Barmag Recycling Technologies – Closing the Loop. Opening Potential,” Barmag—alongside Oerlikon Barmag, Oerlikon Neumag, BB Engineering (BBE), and Oerlikon Barmag Huitong Engineering (OBHE)—will exhibit in Hall 10, Booth H12, offering visitors insights into innovative solutions for plastics manufacturing and recycling.

Barmag CEO Georg Stausberg highlighted that their technologies enable closed-loop economies in both the packaging and chemical fiber sectors. The company offers in-house solutions for melt preparation, cleaning, conveying, granulation, and spinning—all from a single source.

Highlights at K 2025:

Sustainable Polycondensation

OBHE’s homogenization technology allows for the thermomechanical recycling of post-industrial polyester waste, such as bottle flakes. The Oerlikon Barmag Homogenizer ensures homogeneous melt and increases viscosity, producing defined rPET precursors for further use in spinning, melt, or granulate forms.

Advanced Extrusion Pumps

Extruder pumps will be showcased for their ability to convey homogenous product flow, reduce pulsations, relieve pressure on the extruder, and compensate for viscosity fluctuations. The GE and GC series offer capacities from 4.7 to 12,800 cm³/rev.

Versatile Polymer Pumps

The GL and GD series handle monomers to polymers across wide viscosities, with delivery volumes up to 21,100 cm³/rev. The ZP series gear pumps offer excellent metering for high-precision tasks, especially in viscosity measurement.

Metering and Drum Pump Solutions

The GM and GA series support highly precise dosing in the plastics, coatings, and PUR industries. The Barmag drum pump is ideal for extracting and dosing viscous media like adhesives or silicones—handling pressure up to 250 bar.

BBE’s Recycling Innovation

Joint venture BBE will highlight single-screw extruders and cascade extrusion systems that process polymers such as PET, rPET, PP, and PA. These systems manage throughputs from 3 to 6,000 kg/h and support both film production and fiber spinning.

Next-Gen Filtration

BBE's COBRA filter introduces automated valve switching and inline cleaning for high filtration stability. With a 24 m² filter area and 4,000 kg/h throughput, it is particularly suited to recycling processes with variable input quality.

Integrated PET Recycling

VacuFil®, BBE’s PET LSP recycling system, combines melt filtration and viscosity control to yield high-quality rPET. The Visco+® unit enables precise IV adjustment, ideal for applications in fiber, film, and packaging.

Live Demonstrations at BBE Recycling Tech Center

On October 10 and 13, BBE will host an Open House at its nearby Recycling Technology Center, demonstrating live PET-to-yarn production using Spinnanlage VarioFil® R and JeTex air texturing systems with auto-doff units. Access by individual invitation only.
