Barmag to Showcase Next-Generation Man-Made Fiber Technologies at India ITME 2026

POY 2.0, smart factory systems, energy-efficient texturing and automation to be presented at Greater Noida event

Barmag will present its latest technologies for man-made fiber production at India ITME 2026, scheduled from December 4 to 9 at India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The company will showcase next-generation solutions covering filament and staple fiber spinning, texturing, nonwovens, polymer processing, automation and digital manufacturing at Booth C15 in Hall 10.

A key focus will be Barmag POY 2.0, a production concept developed by rethinking the POY process chain across spinning, quenching, winding and digital process control.

Barmag to Present POY 2.0

Barmag said POY 2.0 has been developed to address challenges facing textile manufacturers, including rising energy costs, sustainability requirements, labor shortages and the need for greater production flexibility.

At the center of the concept is the new Barmag WINGS POY 2.0 winder, which features a fully automatic string-up function. According to the company, the technology can reduce startup times, limit waste generation and lower operator intervention.

"For decades, productivity improvements in spinning were often measured in percentages. With POY 2.0, we set out to rethink the entire process from the ground up," said André Wissenberg, Head of Marketing, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at Barmag. "The result is a solution that simultaneously addresses the industry's most pressing challenges: efficiency, quality, sustainability, and workforce availability. This is not a machine upgrade. It is a new production philosophy."

New Components Target Energy and Material Savings

The POY 2.0 concept also includes the DIO Spin Pack Generation 2, developed to improve rheological performance and filament homogeneity. Its more compact design reduces filter sand consumption by approximately one-third and component weight by more than 30 percent.

The redesigned spinning beam has reduced surface areas and can deliver energy savings of up to 10 percent, according to Barmag.

The Barmag EvoQuench 2.0 system is designed to simplify process adjustments and improve filament quenching. Improved accessibility is intended to shorten setup times, reduce operator effort and limit off-quality production during product changes.

"Our customers are no longer looking at individual machine specifications," explained Wissenberg. "They are evaluating total operational performance. Energy efficiency, waste reduction, ease of operation and reproducible quality all directly influence profitability. Our solution POY 2.0 was designed around exactly these priorities."

Digital Manufacturing Through atmos.io

Barmag's digital platform atmos.io is another component of its smart factory approach. The platform captures, analyzes and distributes process data across production operations.

The system provides each bobbin with a digital identity from polymer processing through warehouse storage. Production managers can use the collected data to identify quality deviations, optimize process parameters and support data-based production decisions.

Its app-based architecture allows manufacturers to select required functions while integrating the platform into existing infrastructure.

"The future competition among yarn manufacturers will not be decided by who owns the most machines," said Wissenberg. "It will be decided by who can transform production data into actionable intelligence. atmos.io is enabling exactly that transformation."

WINGS FDY FLEX Focuses on Production Flexibility

Barmag will also present WINGS FDY FLEX, a winding concept designed for a broad production window and faster product changes.

The system supports different yarn types, including recycled polyester materials. The company said the concept is intended to help producers respond to changing market requirements while maintaining production efficiency.

eFK EvoSmart Targets Energy and Maintenance Costs

For texturing operations, Barmag will showcase the eFK EvoSmart machine concept. It combines process control with the EvoHeater system and Smart Godet technology.

According to Barmag, the machine can reduce specific energy consumption by as much as 25 percent per kilogram of yarn.

Replaceable heater inserts eliminate complex cleaning procedures, while optimized airflow systems can double service intervals and reduce maintenance effort by up to 50 percent.

In June 2026, Barmag partnered with India's Hitech Automation Solutions to integrate the Doffmatic solution into existing eFK systems. The retrofit-capable approach is intended to provide producers with an automation option without requiring investment in fully automated lines.

Neumag Advances Staple Fiber Production

Barmag's Neumag product line will highlight developments in staple fiber production, including the EvoSteam process, which is designed to combine energy savings with improved fiber quality.

Technologies including EvoDuct and EvE-2 support airflow management and monomer extraction to improve process stability and fiber uniformity.

Neumag is also implementing robotic spin pack cleaning technology. The system is designed to provide consistent cleaning quality, longer service intervals, lower labor requirements and improved process reliability.

"Automation is not about replacing people," said Wissenberg. "It is about allowing skilled operators to focus on higher-value activities while ensuring greater process consistency and operational excellence."

New Technologies for Carpet Yarn

In carpet yarn production, Neumag will present its BICO BCF technology, which creates a yarn structure designed to improve carpet bulk and recovery performance while reducing face fiber consumption by approximately 20 percent.

The technology is intended to reduce raw material requirements while maintaining performance characteristics.

Another solution, FiberGuard BCF, uses sensors to monitor yarn tension between twisting and winding. The software automatically adjusts production parameters when deviations occur. FiberGuard can also be retrofitted onto existing BCF installations.

Nonwoven Technology for Filtration Applications

Neumag's nonwoven technology portfolio includes the patented hycuTEC system. The technology enables meltblown materials to achieve electrostatic charging efficiencies of up to 99.99 percent using osmosis-treated water.

The technology is targeted at filtration applications where electrostatic charging performance is important.

Recycling and Polymer Processing

Barmag Huitong Engineering's homogenization technology addresses polymer production for man-made fiber spinning processes involving polyester, polypropylene and nylon.

The technology supports the thermomechanical recycling of post-industrial polyester waste, including bottle flakes and film material. By increasing viscosity, the process can produce defined intermediate products for pellets, melt or fibers for direct spinning.

The company said the technology can provide greater control over polymer quality, reduce dependence on external raw material suppliers and increase value creation from recycled material.

Technology Portfolio for a Changing Textile Industry

Barmag's India ITME 2026 portfolio covers spinning, winding, texturing, staple fiber production, carpet yarn, nonwovens, polymer processing, automation and digitalization.

The technologies on display are positioned around production efficiency, energy consumption, waste reduction, flexibility and automation as textile manufacturers respond to changing market and operating conditions.

Barmag will present these solutions under the theme “A New Era. Powered by Innovation.” at Booth C15 in Hall 10 from December 4 to 9, 2026.
