Barmag Commissions Polyamide 6 CP Plant in China

The subsidiary of Barmag, Barmag Huitong (Yangzhou) Engineering Co., Ltd., has successfully commissioned its first continuous polymerization (CP) plant for polyamide 6 in Zhejiang province, China.

After a rapid construction and commissioning period of just seven months, the facility began operations at the end of 2025. Since then, it has been producing 20 metric tons of high-quality polyamide 6 per day, while achieving notable reductions in energy consumption. The material is directly processed into filament yarn for textile applications through an integrated spinning setup, enabling the manufacturer to strengthen its position in the competitive PA6 market.

The joint venture between German fiber technology specialist Barmag and Chinese plant expert Huitong has enhanced the conventional two-reactor technology, improving its efficiency and making it a strong solution for future PA6 direct spinning processes. At the same time, Barmag Huitong Engineering continues to advance process and equipment innovations aimed at boosting plant performance and supporting the sustainable growth of the nylon value chain.
