Asia Pacific Rayon Expands Industry Engagements in Indonesia and India

Asia Pacific Rayon (APR), a global manufacturer of viscose rayon, has strengthened its engagement with customers in Indonesia and India through participation in key textile industry events.
The company marked its eighth consecutive participation at Indo Intertex Expo in Jakarta, where it presented developments in viscose and lyocell fibres while interacting with stakeholders across the textile value chain. The exhibition brought together suppliers and buyers exploring product development and business opportunities, enabling APR to expand its industry connections.
At the Jakarta event, APR showcased seven partner companies representing segments such as spinning, weaving, knitting and garment manufacturing. The joint presentation highlighted the integrated structure of Indonesia’s textile ecosystem and collaboration between fibre producers and downstream manufacturers. APR is part of the RGE group of companies founded by Sukanto Tanoto.
A dedicated segment of the showcase featured lyocell fabrics designed for batik applications. Batik, recognised by UNESCO as part of Indonesia’s cultural heritage, continues to play a significant role in the country’s textile sector. The display demonstrated the compatibility of lyocell fibres with traditional dyeing processes.
Following its Indonesia engagement, APR participated in the Fibers & Yarns Expo in Mumbai, a major textile trade fair in India. The event served as a platform for interaction with industry participants and facilitated new and existing business engagements within the supply chain.
During the Mumbai exhibition, APR introduced BVF, a finer denier viscose developed for fine count spinning applications. The product is positioned for use in segments such as high-end fashion, athleisure, intimate apparel and home textiles.
Sachin Malik, Commercial Head, Asia Pacific Rayon, said:
"In the current market scenario, success is not a solo pursuit. It is about how effectively we integrate into our customers' reality. Our strategy in Indonesia and India demonstrates that fibre producers must align their growth with the success of customers and the wider textile value chain."
APR’s participation in these events reflects its continued engagement with regional markets and its focus on strengthening relationships across the textile supply chain.
