Asahi Kasei has announced the phased restart of Bemberg™ production at its Nobeoka facility in Japan, beginning in January 2026. The site, which serves as the sole production location for Bemberg™, is resuming operations in restored sections following a partial shutdown caused by an incident in April 2022.

The resumption of production follows an extended period of restoration and safety enhancement at the Nobeoka facility. According to the company, substantial investments have been made to reinforce safety systems, rebuild affected areas, and restore operational readiness, with the aim of achieving stable and long-term production continuity.

Production is expected to increase gradually as operations resume, allowing Asahi Kasei to re-establish supply to the market in a structured manner. The restart also reflects the company’s broader focus on operational reliability, efficiency, and risk management following the 2022 incident.

Kaoru Hashimoto, Senior General Manager of Bemberg™, acknowledged the support of stakeholders during the recovery period. He stated that the restart of production represents an important milestone and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to working with customers, partners, and employees toward the development of a responsible and future-oriented business.
