Arvind Mafatlal Group Launches Indivar Foundation to Empower the Girl Child

The Arvind Mafatlal Group has introduced the Indivar Foundation (www.indivarfoundation.org), a not-for-profit initiative aimed at strengthening its long-standing community engagement efforts with a focused approach, particularly towards the girl child.
The Foundation is based on the vision of Mr. Arvind Mafatlal and reflects a long-standing approach in which business and community development have been interconnected. Prior to the establishment of formal corporate social responsibility frameworks, the Group was involved in initiatives across healthcare, education, and livelihoods, guided by the principle of inclusive progress.
Over the past 60 years, the Group has worked with organisations including Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust, BAIF Development Research Foundation, N. M. Sadguru Water and Development Foundation, and Shri Chaitanya Health and Care Trust. These collaborations have supported healthcare access for over 20 million individuals, benefited more than 1 million children and youth through education and development programmes, and impacted over 3 million rural households through livelihood and skill-building initiatives.
The Indivar Foundation aims to build on these efforts by introducing a more structured approach to social initiatives, with a focus on improving access to education, health, and opportunities for the girl child. Its programmes will cover areas such as education, health and nutrition, and community empowerment, with an emphasis on locally relevant and scalable solutions.
The Foundation has initiated its activities through Project Tarang in Khojbal, Gujarat. This programme focuses on strengthening school systems, improving learning outcomes, enhancing access to healthcare, and supporting environments for adolescent girls.
Pankhuri Mafatlal, Director, Indivar Foundation, said:
“Indivar Foundation is rooted in the belief that when a girl is given the opportunity to learn and grow, the impact extends far beyond her shaping her confidence, choices, and future. As a mother, this is something I relate to closely, and it has shaped how I view the kind of support every girl deserves one that allows her to learn, build confidence, and move forward with dignity. Through Indivar, we are working closely with communities to understand the barriers girls face and build thoughtful, sustained programmes that expand access to education, health, and opportunity in a way that creates long-term impact.”
Priyavrata Mafatlal, Director, Indivar Foundation and Vice Chairman, Arvind Mafatlal Group, added:
“Across the communities we have engaged with, one reality stands out potential is not the constraint, access is and the girl child is often most affected by this gap. This insight is shaped by a legacy where community engagement has always been integral to how we operate, with the belief that progress must extend beyond business.
We have seen that the right support at the right time can change outcomes not just for individuals, but for families and communities. Indivar Foundation brings greater focus and continuity to this effort, with the aim of expanding access to education, healthcare, and opportunity for girls, creating impact that extends well beyond what is immediately visible. Indivar Foundation will expand its work across Maharashtra and Gujarat, with a long-term vision of building sustainable, community-led models that can be scaled across regions.”
