Arunachal Pradesh Delegation Meets World Trade Center Mumbai to Explore Investment & Employment Opportunities

A senior delegation from the Department of Labour and Employment, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, visited World Trade Center Mumbai. The interaction focused on employment generation, skill development initiatives, and business linkages to support economic growth in Arunachal Pradesh.
A senior delegation from the Department of Labour and Employment, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, held discussions at World Trade Center Mumbai on measures to expand employment opportunities, strengthen skill development programmes, and create inter-regional business linkages. The dialogue also examined approaches to attract investment, encourage entrepreneurship, and build industrial connections to support sustainable economic growth and long-term job creation in Arunachal Pradesh.
Shri Sapbi Yomcha, Assistant Labour Commissioner (HQ), Government of Arunachal Pradesh, said, “Arunachal Pradesh offers significant growth opportunities for industries. The state is actively exploring prospects in lithium resources and expanding solar energy initiatives. There is also great scope for horticulture, including fruits such as oranges, kiwi, and pineapple, alongside large tea plantations.”
“We are strongly focused on employment opportunities, infrastructure development, and ensuring sustainable economic growth for the people of Arunachal Pradesh” said Mr. Yomcha.
Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman, World Trade Center Mumbai and President, All India Association of Industries, said, “There is vast industrial potential in states like Arunachal Pradesh, particularly when the state is in its early stages and strongly focused on development. Sectors such as agro-based industries, renewable energy, tourism, infrastructure, MSMEs, and small-scale manufacturing offer significant scope for growth.
“With the right industry linkages, policy support, and investor facilitation, the state can emerge as a strong destination for industrial investment and large-scale employment generation,” added Dr. Kalantri.
The delegation included senior labour and employment officials from various districts of Arunachal Pradesh. The meeting addressed industrial expansion, workforce mobility, entrepreneurship promotion, and investment attraction as part of efforts to create sustainable employment across the state.
Participants highlighted the need for closer coordination between policy institutions and industry bodies to advance state-level economic development. The visit was positioned as a step toward interstate cooperation, investment facilitation, and employment generation, in line with the objectives of Viksit Bharat and inclusive growth for emerging states such as Arunachal Pradesh. The interaction concluded with an understanding to continue engagement and collaboration to strengthen business activity and the employment ecosystem in the state.
