Archroma Secures Cradle to Cradle Gold for Key Product Groups

A major sustainability milestone with 10 product groups certified.
Archroma advances its circularity mission as ten product groups achieve Cradle to Cradle Certified® Material Health Gold, offering the textile and paper industries safer, sustainable chemistry solutions.
Archroma, a leading global name in specialty chemicals, has strengthened its sustainability vision with ten of its product groups receiving Cradle to Cradle Certified® Material Health Gold recognition under Version 4.0 of the standard.
This milestone covers dozens of Archroma brands and nearly 200 products, offering mills and fashion labels verified assurance of safety and responsible chemistry. These certifications support brands aiming to secure Cradle to Cradle certification for finished textiles at a time when the circular economy is a growing priority for retailers and consumers.
The Cradle to Cradle Material Health standard examines a product’s chemical makeup to ensure its safety for people and the planet—an essential requirement for circular models such as safe recycling and composting.
“Our goal is to exceed industry standards and help lead the shift to cleaner chemistries and a more sustainable world,” said Dhirendra Gautam, Global VP Commercial at Archroma. “The Cradle to Cradle label is becoming increasingly significant at the brand and mill level. We believe in transparency and supporting our partners to make informed decisions that not only prioritize human health and the environment, but also bring production resource savings and improve the durability of end products.”
The company’s SUPER SYSTEMS+ solutions framework quantifies environmental and performance impacts, enabling manufacturers to combine process technologies and intelligent effects tailored to end-use needs. Most Cradle to Cradle-certified products sit within Archroma’s Impact and Impact+ categories.
Archroma’s certified textile portfolio spans reactive, acid, disperse, indigo and sulfur dyes, as well as full chemical systems for pretreatment, optical brightening, dyeing assistance, sizing and flame retardance. Key innovations include DIRESUL® EVOLUTION BLACK, the industry’s most sustainable sulfur black dye; AVITERA SE®, a resource-efficient reactive dye range; and the Blue Magic pretreatment system featuring IMEROL® BLUE bleaching auxiliary, SIRRIX® NE LIQ biodegradable neutralizer, and BACTOSOL® SAP NEW LIQ anti-peroxide enzymes. Other highlights include ERIOFAST® high-fastness dyes for polyamide, TERASIL® WW dyes for performance polyester, and ULTRAPHOR® brightening agents designed for superior results on synthetic textiles.
Beyond textiles, Archroma has also secured Cradle to Cradle Material Health Gold certification for its low-sulfide sulfur dyes used in the paper industry.
