Archroma Launches CYCLANON® XC-W e for Cleaner Dyeing

Archroma introduces CYCLANON® XC-W e—an advanced washing-off auxiliary for reactive dyeing, ensuring high color fastness and efficiency under tough conditions.
Archroma, a global specialty chemicals leader, has announced the launch of CYCLANON® XC-W e, a new washing-off auxiliary designed to enhance productivity and reduce resource usage during cellulosic dyeing, all while ensuring exceptional color fastness even under high-electrolyte or hard water conditions.
According to Dhirendra Gautam, VP Global Marketing and Strategy at Archroma:
“With CYCLANON® XC-W e, we are building on our proven trio-polymer platform to give mills a way to meet rising brand expectations for durable, high-quality casual wear with a lower environmental footprint – all at a cost profile comparable to conventional washing-off agents.”
Traditional polyacrylate or copolymer-based agents often underperform in removing unfixed dyes, especially when excess salt or hard water is present. This inefficiency may lead to re-dyeing or uneven color quality.
Archroma’s trio-polymer CYCLANON® XC-W e resolves these issues, offering improved dye removal, productivity gains, and environmental savings at a similar cost to standard products.
Key Performance Benefits:
- Enhanced wet-fastness by minimizing unfixed dye attraction to fibers
- Reduced backstaining, even on deep shades
- Decreased water and energy use during the washing-off phase
Efficiency Gains vs. Conventional Agents:
- Up to 15% shorter process time
- Up to 20% water savings
- Up to 20% lower CO₂ emissions
- Up to 20% reduction in chemical use
These efficiencies lead to greater productivity. A knit mill producing 10 MT/day could boost output by 1 MT/day by reducing washing baths and quality rejections.
System Integration:
Part of Archroma’s SUPER SYSTEMS+, CYCLANON® XC-W e can be paired with Blue Magic pretreatment and NOVACRON® EC/S reactive dyes for comprehensive cotton dyeing. Classified as an IMPACT+ solution, it supports maximum sustainability and wash durability, surpassing compliance norms (ZDHC MRSL Level 3).
Registrations for bluesign®, ZDHC Level 3, and GOTS 7.0 are in progress.
