Aquapak’s Hydropol Recognised with Two Prestigious US Nonwoven Awards
Aquapak’s innovative Hydropol polymer—renowned for being water-soluble, non-toxic, marine-safe, and microplastic-free—has received two major accolades in the US nonwoven sector. The awards highlight Hydropol's transformative potential in making nonwovens dissolvable, flushable, and safe for wastewater systems.
Award-Winning Applications
Hydropol was key in Innovatec® Microfibre Technology’s InnovaWipe® Water-Soluble Nonwoven, which earned the IDEA® Nonwoven Products Achievement Award. This biodegradable fabric withstands oils, greases, and chemicals while completely breaking down under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions.
It also helped secure the IDEA® Sustainability Advancement Award for the KINDCLOTH™ Insect Repellent Wet Wipe. This eco-friendly wipe combines Hydropol with a natural insect-repellent formula containing lemongrass and citronella. Designed for environmentally conscious consumers, the wipe is certified biodegradable, flushable, and free of harmful residues.

Technology at Scale
Aquapak has partnered with Innovatec® and KINDCLOTH™ to scale up production of Hydropol-based meltblown nonwovens in a single-step process. These wipes dissolve within seconds and meet flushability standards, are biodegradable in freshwater, and are home compostable.
This same Hydropol-powered technology is adaptable for other nonwoven formats, supporting a wide range of sustainable consumer and industrial applications.
