Analytical Components International Launches High-Performance HPLC Pump Seals Compatible With Major Systems
New seal line designed for Agilent® and Waters® HPLC pumps targets high-pressure analytical performance
Analytical Components International (ACI), a manufacturer of precision components for analytical instrumentation and a developer of synthetic sapphire and precision ceramic components for industrial, medical, and life science applications, has introduced a new line of high-performance seals compatible with major HPLC pump systems.
The company stated that it has long provided hard material components for HPLC pumps, including sapphire and ceramic pistons. With the introduction of the new seal line, the company now offers aftermarket seal solutions for the piston-seal interface.
The seals are designed for use with Agilent® HPLC pumps and Waters® HPLC pumps and are manufactured to meet or exceed OEM performance standards. According to the company, the system approach is intended to reduce the risk of premature seal failure and support pulse-free flow at pressures exceeding 15,000 psi.
ACI noted that HPLC pump performance depends on the precision fit between piston and seal. By engineering both components, the company aims to address compatibility gaps that may arise when using third-party pistons and seals. The pistons are polished to industry leading surface finishes, while the seals are designed to reduce seal degradation.
Material selection varies by system. Graphite-filled PTFE is used for aftermarket Agilent® pumps, while reinforced UHMW-PE is used for aftermarket Waters® ACQUITY® pumps, supporting high-pressure performance and extended maintenance intervals.
The seals are designed for compatibility with widely used OEM HPLC and UHPLC pump part numbers, including:
- Seals compatible with Agilent® 1100/1200/1260 pumps (cross-reference OEM P/N 5063-6589, 0905-1420)
- Seals compatible with Waters® Alliance pumps (cross-reference OEM P/N WAT271018, WAT270938, WAT271017, WAT270939, WAT270940)
- Seals compatible with Waters® ACQUITY® pumps (cross-reference OEM P/N 700002598, 700002599)
