AMHSSC, ITEES Launch Luxury Fashion Course in Mumbai

With India’s luxury retail sector witnessing remarkable growth, the need for skilled, customer-centric professionals is becoming increasingly vital. To address this demand, the Apparel, Made-ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC), in partnership with ITEES Singapore, a globally recognized institute for vocational excellence, has launched a first-of-its-kind “Luxury Fashion & Lifestyle Management” course at the Centre of Excellence (CoE), Kandivali, Mumbai.
This six-month specialized program aims to prepare Indian youth for thriving careers in the luxury fashion and premium apparel retail sectors. The course blends classroom learning, grooming and styling labs, retail store visits, and internships with leading luxury brands, offering students an immersive and practical understanding of the global luxury fashion ecosystem.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr. A. Sakthivel, Chairman, AMHSSC, said, “With India emerging as a hub for luxury retail, there is a growing need for trained professionals who can meet international standards. This course is a step towards equipping our youth with the skills, exposure, and confidence required to excel in luxury fashion and lifestyle management, both domestically and globally.”
He further added, “Aligned with international retail standards, the curriculum focuses on developing communication, styling, sales etiquette, and customer relationship management — skills crucial for success in high-value retail settings. The course also introduces participants to global luxury trends, visual merchandising, and brand storytelling, ensuring they are industry-ready for India’s expanding luxury market.”
The program highlights India’s commitment to global skill development standards and is expected to play a key role in transforming aspiring professionals into luxury retail specialists equipped for both domestic and international roles.
