ALVA Industries to Demo New Motor Tech at Automatica 2025

ALVA Industries (Alva) has announced a live demonstration of its latest motor technology at Automatica 2025, in collaboration with Elmo Motion Control. The demonstration will showcase Alva’s SlimTorq™ frameless motors integrated with Elmo’s high-performance servo drive solutions.
This live setup — located at Alva’s booth #512 in Hall B6 — features SlimTorq™ motors controlled by Elmo’s Platinum Harmonica drive, a synergy validated through successful compatibility testing that confirmed precise control, efficient operation, and seamless integration.
“We’re excited to collaborate with Elmo Motion Control, a leader in advanced motion solutions,” stated Nicolas Giraudo, Chief Commercial Officer at Alva Industries. “Their proven expertise in delivering high-performance and reliable drivers and controllers across a wide range of applications aligns seamlessly with our SlimTorq™ motor portfolio. By combining Elmo’s precision and reliability with Alva’s compact, light, precise, and high-torque technology, we’re creating a powerful synergy that delivers exceptional value to our shared existing and potential new customers.”
Ronen Sadan, VP Marketing at Elmo Motion Control, also remarked, “The collaboration with Alva is truly innovative. Their unique motor technology adds a new level to many industrial applications. We encourage show visitors to see the results for themselves at Automatica.”
The highlight of the demo is Alva’s SlimTorq™ motor series, designed as a slotless, frameless motor to serve high-precision motion control applications. Its zero cogging, high torque density, and large through-hole make it particularly suited for medical devices, gimbals, and robotics.
This is further enhanced by Elmo’s Platinum Harmonica — an ultra-compact servo drive delivering up to 400 W continuous power with more than 99% efficiency. Operating on 12–60 VDC, it supports functional safety, handles up to 5 A continuous current, and delivers high-frequency, smooth control in space-limited systems.
