Alva Industries Expands SlimTorq™ Portfolio with Launch of High-Torque STM-190-35 Motor

Alva Industries has introduced the SlimTorq™ STM-190-35, a new addition to its frameless, slotless motor portfolio. The launch expands the existing STM range with enhanced torque capability and design flexibility. The motor is intended for high-precision direct-drive applications.
Alva Industries (Alva), a manufacturer of frameless motors and developer of FiberPrinting™ technology, has announced the launch of the SlimTorq™ STM-190-35. The new model represents a larger size within the SlimTorq™ frameless, slotless motor portfolio, offering increased torque capability and precision for demanding applications.
The STM-190-35 is designed for use in direct-drive systems, including electro-optical platforms, gimbals, robotics, and other motion-critical applications. It features a favorable inner-to-outer diameter ratio and a compact axial length, supporting space-efficient system configurations while maintaining torque density and control performance.
The motor is integrated with Alva’s TorqStudio design and simulation platform, which enables engineers to assess motor performance, evaluate winding configurations, and optimize motor selection during early design stages based on application requirements.

With the addition of the STM-190-35, the SlimTorq™ STM portfolio now includes nine motor sizes, covering a range of outer diameters and lengths. Each size offers multiple inner diameter options, winding configurations, and customization possibilities to suit specific application needs.
The STM-190-35 is manufactured using Alva’s FiberPrinting™ technology, which produces ironless, slotless windings with a high copper fill factor and zero cogging. The motor is available with various winding options, terminal block configurations, and optional temperature and Hall sensors, supporting system-level integration and control.
