A unified motion solution featuring SlimTorq™ motors and Accelnet servo drives

ALVA Industries and Copley Controls reunite at SPS 2025 to demonstrate a fully integrated motion system that combines ultra-smooth SlimTorq™ motors with advanced servo control from Copley, offering a compact and powerful solution for next-generation automation.

ALVA Industries (ALVA) and Copley Controls (Copley) are partnering once again after their successful joint showcase at Automatica earlier this year. The two companies will reunite at SPS 2025 to present a live demonstration of seamless motion integration using Alva’s SlimTorq™ frameless motors combined with Copley’s Accelnet BPL-090-30 servo drive.

The demo, located at Alva’s booth in Hall 3, Booth 259, features a fully functioning motion setup showcasing Alva’s zero-cogging SlimTorq™ motor and Copley’s advanced servo drive technology. Together, the solution delivers exceptional smoothness, rapid response, and design adaptability, making it ideal for robotics, industrial automation, and precision machinery.

Ryan LaVoie, Director of Product Management & Marketing at Copley Controls, said:
“At Copley Controls, we are committed to delivering precision servo drive solutions that enable high-performance motion ecosystems. We are thrilled to demonstrate how our compatibility with Alva’s motors gives customers a streamlined path to world-class servo performance backed by two trusted industry partners.”

Anton Franzén, Director of Product Management & Application Engineering at Alva Industries, added:
“It’s a pleasure to once again team up with Copley at SPS. Together, we’re showing how easily our SlimTorq™ motor integrates with Copley’s servo drive to deliver a compact, powerful motion solution.”

At the core of the demonstration is Alva’s SlimTorq™ motor series—engineered for low cogging, high torque density, and compact, frameless integration. Its slotless design and large through-hole offer excellent flexibility for applications such as robotics, medical devices, and gimbals.

Powering the system is the Copley Accelnet BPL-090-30, a DC servo drive delivering up to 15 A continuous current with precise control across torque, velocity, and position modes. With CANopen DS-402 support, multiple feedback interfaces, and CME 2™ software for rapid setup, the BPL is a robust choice for embedded motion applications.

Visitors can experience the integrated solution firsthand at SPS 2025.
