AEPC Welcomes ECLGS 5.0 as Timely Support for MSME Exporters Amid West Asia Crisis

The Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) has acknowledged the Union Cabinet’s approval of the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) 5.0, identifying it as a measure aimed at supporting businesses during the ongoing West Asia crisis.

According to AEPC, the scheme is designed to facilitate additional credit flow of Rs. 2.55 lakh crore, enabling businesses to address short-term liquidity requirements.

A. Sakthivel, Chairman of AEPC, said:
“ECLGS 5.0 will provide crucial liquidity support to MSME exporters, helping sustain production, protect jobs, and maintain supply chains during this challenging period. The 100% guarantee and zero fee will further ease credit access.”

The council indicated that the scheme could assist MSME exporters in maintaining operations, including production continuity and supply chain stability.

AEPC also stated that the initiative is expected to contribute to industry resilience and support ongoing export activities.
