AEPC Chairman Welcomes Economic Survey 2025–26 Outlook on Growth and Stability

The Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) has responded to the Economic Survey 2025–26 presented by Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, noting its assessment of India’s growth prospects and policy direction.
Commenting on the Survey, Dr. A. Sakthivel, Chairman, AEPC, said,
“the Survey clearly reflects the government’s progressive and growth-oriented vision for a Viksit Bharat. Economic Survey projecting FY27 GDP growth at 6.8-7.2% indicates the resilience of the economy despite global headwinds.”
He observed that the document takes a forward-looking view of economic conditions, recognising emerging challenges while outlining a roadmap for reforms, resilience, and sustained expansion. Chairman AEPC further said,
“the emphasis on policy stability, competitiveness, and structural reforms sends a strong message of confidence to industry and global stakeholders alike.”
Dr. Sakthivel added,
“the apparel export industry looks forward to progressive reforms and continuity in policy direction, which are essential for fostering long-term investments, enhancing global competitiveness, and strengthening India’s position as a trusted manufacturing and sourcing destination. The Survey, he said, reinforces stability and trust — two critical pillars for accelerating India’s journey toward inclusive and sustainable economic growth. The next decade is India’s moment in apparel and textiles exports.”
