ACI Expands HPLC Portfolio with Aftermarket Check Valves for Agilent and Waters Systems

New valve range designed for Agilent® and Waters® HPLC/UPLC platforms using sapphire, ruby, and ceramic components

Analytical Components International (ACI), a manufacturer of precision components for analytical instrumentation and hard-material technologies, has announced the expansion of its liquid chromatography portfolio through the launch of a new line of aftermarket check valves.

The new check valves are designed to complement ACI's high-precision piston products and provide a cost-effective alternative for Agilent® and Waters® HPLC/UPLC systems. Manufactured using ACI's expertise in processing sapphire, ruby and ceramic materials, the valves are engineered to meet or exceed OEM performance specifications.

The initial product range is compatible with major Agilent® 1100, 1200 and 1260 Infinity systems, as well as Waters® Alliance and ACQUITY® UPLC platforms. It includes inlet, outlet and valve configurations used in analytical and preparative pump systems, including Active Inlet Valve (AIV) cartridges, passive inlet valves with integrated seals, outlet valves with integrated seals, and Intelligent Intake Valve (I2V) double ball/seat assemblies.

Key Technical Features

  • Hard Material Precision: Sapphire and ruby components with ceramic seats provide leak-tight sealing and rapid response.
  • Material Inertness: Broad solvent compatibility helps reduce baseline noise and contamination risk in LC-MS applications.
  • Synergistic Design: Optimised for use with ACI piston systems to improve pump efficiency and operational consistency.
  • Quality Assurance: Every unit undergoes 100% pressure testing to ensure performance above 15,000 psi in UPLC systems.

The expanded product range enables laboratories to source both pistons and check valves from a single supplier. According to the company, the portfolio is intended for pharmaceutical quality control laboratories, contract research organisations (CROs) and high-throughput testing environments seeking dependable performance while reducing maintenance requirements.

“This expansion strengthens ACI’s liquid chromatography portfolio by adding high-reliability check valves designed to complement our existing piston technology,” said Michael Mainvielle, President and General Manager at ACI. “These components are engineered using sapphire, ruby, and ceramic materials to meet or exceed OEM performance specifications across major analytical platforms.”
