NITI has been given the task of mapping all industrial zones in India by the Union Finance Minister Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman. Following this, NITI Aayog will prepare a report that maps all the industrial zones including industrial corridors, logistics parks and pharma red final approval hubs to be incorporated under the PM Gati Shakti initiative. The shipping ministry has been told to explore linkages that can be achieved between seaports and the industrial corridors.

NITI Aayog has been asked to map industrial zone including industrial corridors, freight corridors, defence corridors, manufacturing zones, textile parks, logistics parks, medical and pharma hubs and explore the possibility for bringing them under the PM Gati Shakti. The Government feels that industrial zones are still lying loose and unconnected and mapping it up will give a better idea of how they can all come into this scheme of things.

A step towards making infrastructure grow faster was taken by the Centre  by launching the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan (NMP) in October 2021. The Rs. 2100 lakh crore mega plan was launched with a digital platform to bring 16 ministries together for integrated planning and implementation of projects. The PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan (NMP) portal is expected to be a game-changer for power transmission projects where sometimes more than two-thirds of the time is spent in route planning and sourcing requisite permits and approvals by the transmission project developers.
