COTTON TEXTILE EXPORTS IN 2021-22 TOUCH $15.29 BILLION

Cotton material commodities, including crude cotton, in 2021-22 were $15.29 billion, as per temporary information accessible. Manoj Kumar Patodia, administrator of Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (Texprocil), said the public authority target was $13.6 billion and 2020-2021 products were $9.8 billion.

All cotton material and attire items – yarn, textures, and madeups – had seen development, as per information with Texprocil. Products to nations like Bangladesh, U.S., Portugal and Sri Lanka had seen a critical leap.

Chief Director of Texprocil Siddhartha Rajagopal said yarn products to China had expanded and cotton material commodities to nations, for example, Egypt and Portugal had likewise expanded. It showed that Indian exporters were tracking down new business sectors. There had been an expansion in volume of products as well, particularly for yarn and textures.

“We really want to pause and watch the supportability of this development as there are store network imperatives, high natural substance costs, and so on. These are adding to the concerns of the exchange,” he added.
