Indian high commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das recently met Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) president Rubana Huq at the latter’s office to discuss ways to further move forward existing trade relations between the two countries. Ganguly Das said the duty-free export of Bangladeshi apparel items to India has increased.

Terming India as one of the big markets for Bangladeshi readymade garments, Huq said Bangladesh also imported fabrics and some other items from India and it was a win-win situation for both the countries, according to Bangla media reports. Huq said export-oriented connectivity issues should be implemented along with infrastructure development for greater benefit.
