Commerce and industry Minister Piyush Goyal recently said a slew of production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes announced by the government in various sectors have induced post-COVID industrial and economic recovery. Positive industry feedback has been received about the various PLIs, he told a review meeting of the steering committee on advancing local value-add & exports (SCALE).

Goyal also holds the consumer affairs, food & public distribution and textiles portfolios.

The minister asked all stakeholders to offer the best quality products and have world class labs for testing as India embarks on an unprecedented global trade engagement, according to an official release.

He also urged states to undertake suitable amendments in labour laws to take advantage of PLI-induced manufacturing growth.

Goyal identified land, skill development, government-industry partnership and compliance of model labour laws as key focus areas for improvement to achieve a robust manufacturing growth.
