Textile exports increase by 22.94 percent

Textile group exports increased by 22.94% for the fiscal year 2020-21 compared to the previous year’s equivalent period. Textile group exports totaling $15,400,142 thousand were recorded for the July-June 20-21 period, compared to $12,526,537 thousand during the same period previous year.
According to statistics provided by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, cotton yarn exports grew by 3.26 percent, totaling $1,016,969 thousand, compared to $984,901 thousand in the same time previous year. Meanwhile, cotton fabric exports grew by 4.98 percent, totaling $1,921,001 thousand in the current fiscal year, compared to $1,829,901 thousand in the same time the previous year. Cotton carded or combed exports grew by 3.17 percent during the time under consideration, totaling $65 thousand in the current fiscal year, compared to S$63 thousand in the same period previous year.
